2 new residential buildings spanning ‘Mabgate’ a historic part of Leeds famed for its industrial heritage. The development provides 89 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments with basement car parking and landscaped gardens.
The 2 individual sites located opposite each other house an open air car park and an old office/warehouse building backing onto the beck. The solution was to part demolish/ part redevelop the existing warehouse building and clear the car park, replacing them with 2 modern residential buildings which share a similar style and material treatment whilst respecting the Mabgate area. Lower floors address the street frontage with traditional brick and stone detailing whilst the top floors are set back to ensure the buildings are not overbearing and are finished in a more contemporary style with large areas of glazing.
The project is currently going through the planning process It is hoped that consent will be granted in early 2016.
